21 Days of Sunrise Yoga = Personal Growth and Transformation!

July 11 – 31, 2022 | 6:00 – 7:15a CENTRAL TIME To sign up, go to alleyCatYoga.com. ONLINE ONLY.

Wake in the early morning, escorted by pastel shades of dawn. Sit in the consciousness of stillness and become poised to listen. Let yoga speak to you as the sun rises. There is no better way to awaken than moving your body on the mat and aligning your heart and mind to spirit.

Sound enticing? Starting July 11, join me in the daily practice of early morning yoga, meditation, mudra, and mantra, and joyfully bound into the rest of your day.

Using the Yamas and the Niyamas as the framework of the class, deepen your ability to weave the wisdom of the first and second limbs of the yogic path into your entire life.

The Yamas, or “restraints,” include:

  • Nonviolence (Ahimsa)
  • Truthfulness (Satya)
  • Nonstealing (Asteya)
  • Nonexcess (Brahmacharya)
  • Nonpossessive (Aparigraha)

The Niyamas, or “observances,” include:

  • Purity (Saucha)
  • Contentment (Santosha)
  • Self-Discipline (Tapas)
  • Self-Study (Svadhyaya)
  • Surrender (Ishvara Pranidhana)

Each day’s asana (posture) practice will include a mantra (statement) and mudra (hand gesture) that is associated with one of the Yamas or Niyamas. Using sound and body posture to call forth the energy of each guideline, the morning practice will poise you to weave the teachings into the rest of your day. Once your energy is flowing in the right direction, everything you do will be completed with greater ease and well-being.

I have set the intention to get up a little bit earlier each day between now and when we start. I wake up and move to the mat for meditation and movement, and listen to what my body wants. This deep listening sets the tone for my interactions, connects me with myself, and guides me to what I need to know. I am calmer, more focused, and more energized. I am more joyful.

Join me on this yoga immersion experience and witness for yourself how the power of practice is fuel for personal growth and transformation.
