Dreaming of Palm Trees and Grabbing Life by the Tail

The snow is coming down and the temperatures are as well. There is no day above freezing in the forecast any day in the near future. I am dreaming of palm trees and a warm tropical breeze blowing through my hair. I am supposed to be in Costa Rica right now teaching a yoga and mindfulness retreat. Darn!

Instead, I am taking my advice from my last blog on how to be resilient and creating something to look forward to in the future. I signed my contract for the February 2022 yoga and mindfulness retreat. I think there are a few other people feeling a little cooped up after the past year of quarantining, as I already have three people signed up to go.

Next February I will be luxuriating in the warm tropical air. I’ll be having three delicious meals served up to me every day including fresh papaya, mango, coconut and pineapple. I’ll be starting the morning with a Kripalu yoga practice and teaching workshops on Energy Medicine Yoga and mindfulness. I will take some time out for amazing body work at the Pura Vida spa. There will be time for leisure by the pool chatting with the lovely people who go on such trips. It will truly be another divine yoga and mindfulness adventure in paradise.

But, don’t just take my word for it, here’s what others have said:

It was a wonderful, relaxing opportunity that gave me the space to reconnect with myself — while connecting with the great group of people you brought together! The experience was the perfect mix that I needed.” K. Smith

This was a great trip, a great group of people, and a great yoga practice in an incredibly beautiful mountainside spot. Definitely returning.” D. Conway

This year, besides the morning Kripalu yoga practice, since I am a newly certified EMYoga Teacher, I will be adding some Energy Medicine Yoga workshops This is an exciting practice that combines the power of yoga with the power of Energy Medicine (as taught by Donna Eden). We will also be practicing mindfulness and mindful eating (yummm!) with themes each day that take you deeper into yourself and into connection with the present moment. Of course, there are exciting eco-adventures to take as well. Check out the Pura Vida Spa website for more information about the location.

By next February we should all have our vaccinations and can travel with more safety and ease. There is really no reason not to go!! Unless you’d rather be here and freezing, of course. That is certainly an option. Even if you don’t live in frigid locations, Costa Rica is a pleasant change no matter where you’re from.

This will be my 6th year leading or co-leading a retreat at Pura Vida Spa, and I never tire of the experience. I hope you will consider joining me and grabbing a room while they are still available. (Space is limited!) You can read all about the trip here as well as download the contract for signing up. Of course, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Grab life by the tail and join the adventure with me! As this year has proven, we only have moments to live and we never know how many more we will have.

NOTE: You only have to put a $500 deposit down on your room and the balance is due by October 29, 2021. In October, if there has been another major disaster in our world that looks like it will prevent us from traveling or you change your mind, you can get your money back minus a $50 processing fee.
