Mindful Eating Goes Live!

I’m happy to announce that the Eat for Life program which I taught at the University of Missouri for many years will now be available online in a live format.  For those of you who don’t know, Eat for Life is a mindfulness-based intuitive eating program that was designed for people wanting a better relationship with food and their bodies. That’s about all of us, right?!

In 2014, research on the program was published in the American Journal of Health Promotion and demonstrated that participants who completed the program had the following results:

  • Increase in mindfulness
  • Increase in body appreciation
  • Increase in intuitive eating
  • Decrease in binge eating behaviors
  • And, all of the positive results were meditated by mindfulness

Here are the dates and times for the program.

Dates:

Orientation: Tuesday, October 25

Classes: Tuesdays, November 1, 2016 – January 3, 2017

Times: 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. (CT)

During the orientation you can decide if this is the right class for you. Then, you have a week to pay and join the class on November 1.  The online platform that we will be using is Zoom! You will be able to see everyone in the class and talk to one another.  We will also be implementing a closed Facebook page if you would like to join so that you can discuss issues with other class members each week.  If you or anyone you know might be interested, be sure and register soon.  Even if Tuesdays don’t work, we will keep your information on file for future classes.

We will be using The Mindfulness-Based Eating Solution as one of the texts for the class. You can purchase it easily online.
