New Yoga Classes (in-person and online) – Starting in June!!

Be still; quietly remember the presence of and within yourself, and you will know, without thinking, that while all around you everything changes, within you lives something unchanging. ~Guy Finley
This is really the message of yoga, and it is what we cultivate when we come to the mat or the cushion. Within each of us is the unchanging, while all around us is never-ending change. When we attach or cling to the impermanent and the changing, we suffer, and when we acknowledge and connect to the unchanging nature within, we find peace. Breathe that in!
If you’ve ever been a yoga student of mine in Columbia, I hope you take the opportunity to practice with me at alleyCat during its final days. It closes its doors on May 20. Then I will be out of town from May 22 – June 12. After that, I do hope you will follow me on my next adventures in yoga at new spaces. Here is how you can continue to practice with me:
Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m., Central Time – Energy Medicine Yoga (In-Person, Online, and by Recording)
Starting Wednesday, June 14, I will be teaching a hybrid class – online and in person. The in-person class only has three spaces as it is in my home studio near Broadway and West Boulevard. I have three committed students that will take the spaces available. If you’d like to be placed on a waitlist for in-person let me know. Online class participants can sign up here by Wednesday (starting 6/14) at 4:00 p.m. and I will send you a Zoom link for the class. If you can’t attend live, I will send you the recording after the class. The recording will be available for a week.
Friday Kripalu Yoga, 4:30 p.m. Central Time, Yoga Sol, 210 St. James Street, Columbia, MO
The longest-standing yoga class in Columbia will continue at a new location. Starting Friday, June 16, I will be moving over to Yoga Sol. Yoga Sol has a beautiful yoga space in the North Village Arts District of Columbia with lots of room for anyone who wants to practice. For the time being, I will be offering this class in person only. I am open to adding an online option if I get enough requests. Sign-up on the Yoga Sol website.
I am delighted to take my Kripalu yoga offering to Yoga Sol as it is a studio that aligns with my spiritual philosophy of yoga. It was opened by Polly Sweitzer and is now co-owned by Liz Klug who was once an alleyCat teacher as well. They have welcomed me with open arms, and I am so happy to have this new home.
Summer Sunrise – 21-Day Yoga Adventure
July 10 – 30, 6:15 – 7:30 a.m. Central Time (Online and On Demand)
Yes! A lot of people have been asking, and I am happy to announce the return of the annual sunrise yoga practice in July. I’m calling it Summer Sunrise, and I hope you’ll take the challenge of practicing with me for 21 days in a row.
We will be reviewing the Yamas and the Niyamas (yoga’s ethical guidelines laid out in the first two limbs of Patanjali’s eightfold path) as a way of touching base with the true essence of yoga. Not only will you be benefitting from the daily physical practice of yoga, but you will be practicing with the main tenants of yoga philosophy in your life off the mat. This class has a combination of asana (physical practice), pranayama (breath practice), mudra (hand gestures), and mantra (chanting). All levels welcome!
Sign up here NOW and join me this summer as we deepen our ability to live from the very core of the yogic teachings.
As you can see from the announcement, I will be taking a short break after teaching at alleyCat to do some traveling and to attend my first Foundational Energy Medicine training in Asheville, NC. I expect to be pumped after my training. Join me June 14 or 16 and catch a little bit of the energy flow I’ll be bringing back.
See you on the mat!
